Frequently Asked Questions
1.) Why should I use worldwartwohelmets.com to sell my WWII military helmets and other items?
The military collecting hobby is about
being a temporary steward of history through the possession of historical
items. We enjoy the opportunity to handle and study these pieces of history.
In order to facilitate the transfer of these historical items, vetbringback.com
was born. We find collectors to be the new stewards of the military items you
or your family sacrificed to obtain. In the process, we want to maximize the
financial reward for those items. WorldWarTwoHelmets.com is not in
the business of earning a profit. This is why we offer the
lowest handling fee on items consigned through WorldWarTwoHelmets.com. If you do
not wish to consign your item, and if your item is on our Top Ten Most Wanted
list, we will beat any military dealers offer for your item. We
encourage you to shop around, and we are confident you will be back.
2.) Is selling through WorldWarTwoHelmets.com safe?
Absolutely. If you decide to sell your item, we will offer an immediate payment via Check, Money Order, or Paypal. If you decide to consign your item, for peace of mind we can offer 20% of the appraised value up front. The balance of the purchase value will be sent once the buyer's payment has cleared. Again, all payment can be made via Check, Money Order, or Paypal.
3.) What military antiques / collectibles are worth the most?
The value of the item will depend
on three main things: the amount of people collecting the item, the rarity of
the item, and the condition of the item. WWII items have the largest group of
collectors; however, the size of individuals collecting WWI and Vietnam items is
growing. In general, WWII German items are the most valuable. Although, WWII
US and Japanese items are catching up fast. WWII Helmets, rifles, uniforms, and
edged weapons are the items most sought by collectors. The value of your item
will also be determined by the rarity and the overall condition. Any
documentation relative to the item (photos of the veteran, capture papers,
awards, etc.) will also raise the overall value of the item. Feel free to contact us for a FREE
APPRAISAL of your items.
4.) How much is my WWII helmet worth?
Unfortunately, it depends and no standard price guide exists! However, the value of all WWII helmets is quite high due to a large community of collectors. With access to that network of collectors, we can get top dollar for your WWII helmet. Feel free to request a free appraisal; you'll be surprised at how much your helmet is worth!
